About This Role
Position Overview
As a Backend Developer at Softek, you will design and build scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines using .NET and Azure for federal agency clients. You will work closely with front-end developers, cloud architects, and product owners to deliver secure, high-performance systems deployed to Azure Government. You will be responsible for writing clean, maintainable code and ensuring services meet federal security and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices using .NET (C#) and ASP.NET Core
- Build and optimize data access layers using Entity Framework, SQL Server, and Azure Cosmos DB
- Deploy and manage services in Azure Government using App Services, Azure Functions, and Service Bus
- Implement authentication and authorization using Azure AD and OAuth 2.0
- Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and Agile ceremonies
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of backend development experience with .NET (C#)
- Strong experience with ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework, and SQL Server
- Proficiency with Azure services (App Services, Functions, Service Bus, Azure AD)
- Understanding of RESTful API design principles and microservices architecture
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Azure Government or FedRAMP-compliant environments
- Knowledge of message queuing, event-driven architecture, or CQRS patterns
- Experience with Docker and container orchestration on Azure
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
